Therapeutic Driving

  • Therapeutic Driving offers participants with physical, mental, sensory or emotional disabilities the rewards of interaction and control of a horse while driving from a carriage seat.
  • Therapeutic driving offers an alternative for students who may be unable to ride due to weight, balance, fatigue, allergies, asthma, fear of heights, the inability to sit astride or other issues.  It provides the student with a unique movement experience .
  • A therapeutic lesson includes teaching participants knowledge regarding safety, horses, harnessing, and driving skills to both children and adults using teamwork.
  • As with riding, there are precautions with driving and each participant will undergo an  evaluation to determine if Therapeutic Driving is appropriate.
